Wow! Have I got a story for you!

8 years ago, Aaron and I bought a raggedy little 1960s Tepee camper trailer. She was dilapidated and ugly, but she had "good bones" AND the original turquoise range, countertops, and table. We drove up to purchase her from Middle-of-nowhere, Oklahoma, and hooked her up to the back of the truck and immediately drove to a Walmart to pick up new tires and pack the wheel bearings with grease!

Once we got her back home, we immediately began the process of ripping out all the bad wood, sealing joints (I never even heard of "butyl tape" before this!), and stripping and repainting. It was a huge process! But after several months, Serenity finally had the makeover she deserved!

We enjoyed camping in her for a year or so, and then we moved and had changes in our lives and decided to sell her. We were definitely sad, but it was necessary. We sold her to a sweet, young family in Austin and even delivered Serenity to them because they didn't yet have a tow vehicle to hook her up to! LOL

We kept in touch with them through Facebook; and several years later, mentioned to them that if they ever decided to sell her that we were interested in buying her back. And lo and behold, about a year later--THEY CALLED! This happened in late-summer of 2021. After the year-long beatdown of Covid scares and lockdowns when we were needing something positive in our life!!

So Aaron drove down to Waco, and met the owners halfway. Hooked her up. Hauled her home. I cried. Can you imagine a camper bringing so much joy!?

We have been enjoying working on her again: repairing a broken stove knob, repainting inside and out, fixing the broken bed, polishing the quilted aluminum...Nothing brings us happiness like DIY projects! She's been on several camping trips since we brought her home. It's good to have her back.

And we decided to start renting her out to photographers for photo shoots when we aren't taking her out on the road! This is going to be so exciting!! I created a page on this website devoted to just that, so click on the BOOK THE CAMPER tab at the top of the page to see photos and details!
